The Problem: High cost and ineffective
The company was spending millions of dollars each year on a collection of home-grown and third party software packages running on an IBM main-frame platform and supported by a staff of 35. As the company sold custom, make-to-order products, development was complex and costly and business needs were not being met.
The Solution: Integrated systems
I sponsored and directed a $4 million project to move the company to an integrated business system on the more efficient AS/400 platform, selecting Andersen’s Mac-Pac Configurator package with it’s state-of-the-art rules-based approach to order screens, pricing and bill of material generation. The project cut the I/T expenses in half, provided a strategic advantage in order processing and is still in use over twelve years later. We were profiled as one of the success stories in an Andersen brochure.
