The Problem – Making budget training interesting

After relocating the company, many newly hired managers needed to be trained on the upcoming budgeting process. While important, this had the potential to be a very boring experience, which would minimize its effectiveness.

The Solution – Integrate a fun theme into the training

With the show “Survivor” currently among the top of the TV ratings, I proposed we develop the budget training around the Survivor theme, creating a game show-like learning environment with contests, challenges, logo rewards items and even a jungle menu for lunch. The training was not only successful, but provided a great team-building experience.

Comments from participants:

“The reinforcement activities and theme was fabulous. Outstanding job on the PowerPoint presentation.”

“Entertaining, informative and challenging.”

“The challenges were a great way to reinforce the day’s activities. Doing something fun always makes what you’ve learned easier to remember. Great job!”
